Switching guide

Switching from Microsoft SMS Organizer to ZenSMS

If you used SMS Organizer for categories, spam control, and a cleaner inbox, ZenSMS is built around the same broad need: organize text messages into folders while keeping your inbox private and local to your device.

ZenSMS is not affiliated with Microsoft or SMS Organizer. This guide is for users comparing SMS apps and planning a manual switch.

How ZenSMS organizes messages

ZenSMS has two folder systems:

Switching steps

  1. Install ZenSMS from Google Play.
  2. Open ZenSMS and follow the default SMS app prompt.
  3. Import existing messages when prompted.
  4. Review folders, spam settings, and any custom folder rules you want to create.
  5. Send and receive a few test messages, including MMS if you rely on picture or group messaging.

Before you switch

If you rely heavily on MMS, group messaging, or RCS-style features, test those paths early. ZenSMS handles SMS and MMS; RCS is controlled by carrier and platform services outside normal SMS apps.
